Bio

Singer Songwriter Chris Nettleton has been impressing crowds from coast to coast with his unique brand of what could be best described as progressive/alternative/folk. A powerful vocalist and songwriter, Chris shares his tumultuous life experiences through vocally charged and hard-hitting songwriting. An orphan from a young age, Chris grew up in the school of hard knocks in the "system". From being raised in group homes and foster homes to panhandling for change on the streets of Toronto, Chris beat the odds and rose above those experiences, turning them into fuel for intense songs and emotional performances. Musicians such as Jeff Buckley, Eddie Vedder, Sinead O'Connor and Ani DiFranco influenced Chris to make his own mark on the Canadian music landscape.

At the age of 19, Chris embarked on a hitchhiking and busking trip through Canada and the US. He was on the road for 2 years. Sleeping on rooftops, jamming in California and playing the occasional folk festival, Chris finally found himself and his passion. Since then Chris has lived and performed in virtually every region of Canada. Chris has had the opportunity to share stages as an opening act with notable Canadian chart-toppers such as David Usher, Dahmnait Doyle, and 54-40 to name a small few. Currently working on his next CD you can catch Chris at various venues in and around southern Ontario. The multimedia section of this site has numerous downloads. From more rock/alternative studio tracks to live acoustic recordings there is a little something for just about everyone.
